John Scadding, 1751-1824

John was the son of a small farmer in Hemyock, Devon, who went to Canada with General Simcoe and was the first settler in modern Toronto.

John Scadding/Scadden, 1759-1795

John was a cordwainer in Chideock, Dorset, who was the father of five children and was hanged for stealing in 1795.

Professor John Guyett Scadding, 1907-1999

Guy was a famous chest physician. He treated Winston Churchill, helped to conquer tuberculosis and established the Institute of Diseases of the Chest at London University.
